Santa Clara, May 4th, 2018 – StartupWind Inc, the social network for university entrepreneurship is hosting the qualifying competition for Purdue University’s prestigious Global Startup Competition and workshop 2018

The global business plan competition will accept business plan entries through the StartupWind platform. The winning entries will be eligible to apply for the Purdue Global Startup Workshop. The best team(s) and ideas will also have an opportunity to apply for J-1 visa program at Purdue University and work on their startup in the United States.

The J-1 program at Purdue is frequently used to provide opportunities for individuals to pursue scholarly, academic and research pursuits at Purdue as well as for students participating in exchange programs. Purdue University is the second university to be granted the authorization by the U.S. Department of State to use the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program for entrepreneurial activity. This makes our program unique for our international scholars to launch a startup in the Greater Lafayette-West Lafayette area.

The Global Startup Workshop 2018 will consist of Firestarter and Lean LaunchPad workshops that will educate the entrepreneurs to

• Develop a clear, concise message that explains your idea/technology in a commercial setting
• Evaluate potential markets, select target segments of customers and assess competitors
• Design a go to market strategy and Business Model Canvas
• Complete initial Customer Discovery process

The last date to apply for the competition is May 14, 2018.
